The 1986-87 Fleer Michael Jordan rookie card is the holy grail of basketball cards. Even after his retirement Michael Jordan basketball cards are stilling selling for good money both graded and ungraded. The Fleer Michael Jordan rookie card is his most popular basketball card. The only basketball card that compares with the Jordan rookie card is the 1980-81 Topps Magic/Bird Rookie. The question is will the Jordan rookie continue michael-jordan-rookie-cardto hold its value. With many counterfeit cards are popping up and it is becoming very dangerous to buy this card ungraded. Ungraded versions sell for $200-$600 so make sure you know what you are purchasing. There have been many counterfeits being pawned off as the real thing on sites like ebay. If you happen to purchase one that is ungraded and you later find out it is a fake understand that ebay won’t get involved and neither will paypal.

Michael Jordan vs Lebron James

Lebron James is being often compared to the great Michael Jordan.  The only problem his Lebron has not won a title yet and if he cannot win a championship he will always be second best.  Lebron James rookie cards are selling for about half of Michael Jordan’s Fleer Rookie.  If Lebron can take the Cavaliers to a championship his cards might surpass the great Jordan.

Michael Jordan rookies will always be worth a lot of money and your investment is probably a safe one.  He will always be known as one of if not the best player ever to wear a basketball uniform and one of the clutch players to ever play for the Chicago Bulls.

Best Michael Jordan Rookie Cards

1986-87 Fleer Michael Jordan- This is the holy grail of basketball cards and the most popular Michael Jordan rookie card.  In a recent ebay auction a GMA 10 Jordan Fleer rookie sold for over $3000.  These cards use to sell for $10,000 when the basketball card market was on fire.  An amazing card one of one of basketball greatest players.

1986-87 Fleer Micahel Jordan Sticker rookie- Many people believe this is the best rookie card to buy as an investment.  This is due to the fact that the cards were printed poorly and are very hard to find on Gem MT condition.  Also this card is actually a sticker and many people used theme as stickers so they peeled the cards off.  These Jordan rookie cards are also more limited in production than the regular issued Fleer cards.  They currently sell for about $2500 in Gem MT 10 condition.

1984 Star Basketball Michael Jordan Rookie- These cards were produced by Star company an is Jordan’s first rookie card.  The problem with these cards are many are off center and may of these cards are fakes.  One of the problems or rumors that surround this card is that many believe the cards were reproduced from the original printing plates when the Star company was sold.  Be very careful when buying these basketball cards.

1991 Upper Deck Baseball SP rookie card- This card was randomly inserted into packs of 1991 Upper Deck baseball and was limited in production.  The irony of this card is it was produced when Jordan still played basketball and nobody could have predicted he would later go and play baseball for the Chicago White Sox.  A great collectible and a decent low end investment.
