A Dan Marino rookie card is one of the best investments anyone can make. Marino will always be remembered as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. His quick release helped make him one of the most prolific passers to ever wear uniform. Some of the best Dan Marino football cards are much undervalued. Many people say this is mainly because he never won a Super Bowl ring. Many people believe that the value of Dan Marino rookie cards will continue to rise in the near future. He currently holds many of the best passing records in the National Football League. Many of his other football cards are also extremely undervalued. Here is a list of some of the best Dan Marino cards that every collector should consider purchasing and adding to their collection.

1984 Topps Marino Rookie Card

The 1984 Dan Marino Topps rookie is possibly the best football card in the 1980’s. These cards are very hard to find in good condition. Topps did a poor job with the centering on many of these cards. If you are lucky to find one in mint Dan Marino Rookie Cardcondition and that is well centered you have hit the jackpot.  Gem MT 10 versions of these football cards sell for $800 and $900. Cards in names nine condition so for around $75-$80. Pay close attention to the condition of the corners as well as the back of the card. In some cases wax stains appear as the 1984 Topps cards were issued in packs that contain chewing gum. Wax stains can dramatically affect the value of any Dan Marino rookie card. We believe that these are some of the best investments that any football cards collector can make. We also believe this is one of the top five football cards to own that was produced in the 1980’s.  Beware of counterfeit Dan Marino rookie cards as there are many that exist.  This is one of the most counterfeited cards of the 80’s and in all of sports cards.  Pay close attention to the quality of the photo as many fakes are very pixelated and out of focus.

1984 Topps Instant Replay Rookie

This is one of the most reasonably priced Dan Marino cards that doesn’t get the attention that it deserves. The instant replay Topps rookie card is just as hard to find in good condition as the regular base card. The difference is, it sells for a small fraction of what the base card does.  This makes it an outstanding investment at its current price of $10. If you happen to find one in Mint 9 or better condition you better pick it up as you may be able to double your money in the near future.

1985 Topps Dan Marino

The 1985 Topps Dan Marino card is much undervalued. This second year card is extremely hard to find in good condition due to its black border. A black border on the 1985 Topps cards seems to show every minor flaw that the card has. This makes Gem MMT 10’s very hard to find and worth picking up at reasonable prices. You can expect to pay $150-$200 for a Gem MT 10 Dan Marino card.  These great football cards make outstanding investments due to the scarcity of high-grade versions of these amazing cards.

Dan Marino rookie cards will always be great investments. There are many outstanding quarterbacks playing in today’s game where frequently compared to the Dolphins great. Peyton Manning rookies and Tom Brady rookies have already surpassed the value of Dan Marino’s rookie card. You can expect this to change in the near future.
