Jose Altuve rookie cards are some of the most undervalued cards in the hobby.  Jose only has a few great rookie cards to choose from, and most of them sell for under $10.00.  That is pretty amazing when you think about the stats he compiled so far in 2016.

The Astros 2nd baseman leads the league with a .361 batting average.  He has also hit 19 home runs and stolen 26 bases while playing in only 105 games.  With plenty of at-bats remaining, Altuve has a shot of reaching the 30/30 mark.  This is one of the most excellent seasons ever played by the 2nd baseman in major league baseball history, and Jose is a serious contender for the AL MVP award.

Jose is only 26 years old, which means he is just getting started. He has a great supporting cast which will help him add to his record-setting totals.  His hitter-friendly ballpark won’t hurt either, and he is sure to get plenty of more at-bats batting leadoff.  His outstanding glove work will keep him on the field, and with the Carlos Correa at shortstop, the Astros have one of the most dominant middle infields in the majors.

Best Jose Altuve Rookie Cards to Buy

2010 Bowman Chrome Jose Altuve Rookie #BCP137Jose Altuve rookie cards chrome

This $8-$10, the white-bordered card is Altuve’s first Bowman Chrome rookie.  These cards grade extremely well, produced with a thick chromium card stock.  Colored variations like green and purple refractors sell for premium prices due to a more limited production run.  These parallel cards are selling for $50 – $200 depending on the color of the refactor and how limited their print run.

2011 Bowman Chrome Jose Altuve #11 Rookie Card

These black bordered Jose Altuve rookie cards sell very well for only $5.  These Altuve baseball cards make great investments even though they are not rare.  These rookies grade very well, but poor centering is sometimes an issue.  Those graded in Gem MT 10 condition fetch $15-$20.

2011 Bowman Jose Altuve #11 RC

These Bowman cards are not limited and are very difficult to find in premium condition.  Thin card stock and black borders make nicked corners a common flaw that make Gem Mt 10’s much harder to find.

2011 Bowman Sterling Jose Altuve #15 RC

These contemporary chromium cards sell for only $4-$5 and grade incredibly well.  They are a steal at their current prices and should be added to every collection.

2011 Bowman Sterling Jose Altuve Rookie Refractor 1 of only 199

This may be the most limited Jose Altuve rookie card with only 199 cards ever produced.  These cards graded very well like the base card but sold for about ten times the amount.  At $75-$80.  Gold refractor parallels do exist and are limited to only 50.  They sell for $250-$300 in Mint condition.

2011 Topps Update Jose Altuve RC #US132

Topps was smart to include Jose in their 2011 Update set.  These Jose Altuve rookie cards are not limited but are still popular with collectors fetching a little over $3 per card.  These white bordered cards usually grade well, but poor centering and nicked corners can sometimes be an issue.  Gem Mt 10 versions have been selling for $15-$20.

Jose Altuve Autographed Cards as Investments

Jose Altuve baseball cards also make great investments, especially if they are in perfect condition.  These cards vary in price, and there are too many for us to list them all, but buyers can expect to pay $25-$100 for these great cards.  Jose has a wide spectrum of autographed cards, and some are extremely limited in production.  The lower the print run, the more these cards will bring now and in the years to come.
