Starlin Castro Rookie Cards Getting Noticed

May 21, 2010

Starlin Castro Rookie Cards have become one of the most interesting baseball cards in today’s hobby since his call up from AAA this month.  The young star shortstop was called up by the Chicago Cubs to try to help them with their weak start.  Castro is one of those 5 tool prospects that you hear about only once in a blue moon.  He has amazing potential and will add some needed pop to the Cubs lineup.  Starlin currently only has a few rookie cards that have been produced.  Here is a list of some of his top rookie cards to date and their current values.

2009 Bowman Chrome Starlin Castro Rookie- Topps hit the jackpot with adding a Castro rookie card to the 2009 set.  There are a few different versions of this card including autograph cards, refractors, Xfractors and colored refractors.

starlin-castro-rookie-card2010 Bowman Chrome Starlin Castro- This card has become another fan favorite just released this week.  With that being said his cards have been some of the most traded since the release date.  You can buy the regular issued cards for about $4 per.  Autograph cards for $40 and Gold refractor autographs numbered to only 50 for about $500.  That gives collectors a nice range of cards to collect.

2010 Topps Finest Redemption Card #3- Collectors have fallen in love with Topps new redemption cards which have been included in 2010 Topps and 2010 Topps Finest.  The Topps Starlin Castro redemption card currently sells for $30 while the Finest redemption has been selling for $50-$60.

2010 Tristar Pursuit- This Starlin Castro autograph rookie card has gained some attention.  This is not a licensed card but still sells for a nice some of money due to its incredible design.  All the autographed cards have been individually numbered with less than 100 of each in production depending on the card.

In his rookie debut with the Cubs Castro knocked in 6 runs including a home run.  It is still to early to tell if Starlin will be the next baseball superstar or if his cards will rival Hanley Ramirez rookie cards or Derek Jeter rookie cards but his potential is insane.  Now would be a great time to invest in Starlin Castro rookie cards.
